How to manage work-life balance.

The importance of work-life balance is often at the bottom of our priority list of things to improve in our lives. We often get carried away in our daily fast paced routine and forget the key pillars for a balanced and happy life.

1. Prioritize your health.
The first thing to do, is to acknowledge that your overall physical, emotional and mental health should be your main concern. Once you're ready to make this your primary goal, you'll be ready to start incorporating a daily action plan.

2. Don't be afraid to unplug.
Disconnecting from the outside world allows us to recover from our daily stresses, and gives us the space we need to gather our thoughts and center ourselves. It even gives us more clarity and enables us to think of new ideas!

3. Make time for yourself.
While your job is of course important, it shouldn't consume your entire life. First things first, you are a person. A person with emotions, thoughts, passions, friends and family. You should make time for your hobbies, your family and friends, reading a book or anything that makes you happy.

4. Set clear boundaries.
Setting boundaries for yourself is crucial to avoid burnout. When you leave the office, avoid thinking about tasks you might have not finished or answering emails. Everything can wait till the morning. Consider having a separate phone for work, so you can shut it off when you clock out.

5. Exercise and meditate.
Dedicating some time for self-care regularly is crucial for your overall wellbeing, as well as work productivity. Whether it’s exercise, yoga or meditation, make time for it and prioritize above all else.
Here are our top recommendations:
- Get a massage from Vita Home Spa.
- Dance it out with Dance Wire.
- Download the Nike Training App for free workouts on your own time.
- Download the Headspace app for some guided mediation.

6. Eat healthy.
We all know the feeling - being pressed with time and grabbing whatever is most convenient to consume as fast as possible to get back to work.
More times than not, we end up choosing unhealthy options and feeling terrible about it later. That's precisely why getting on a meal plan will help you stay on track without any additional time or effort needed!
