It is said that drinking plenty of liquids after a massage can help the body eliminate substances that have been released in your body during the massage. When we are undergoing a treatment, blood circulation is increased which in turn increases the elimination of minerals and other substances in the muscle cells. By drinking water after your treatment is completed, you are helping your body get rid of these substances. If they don't get flushed out of your body, they could accumulate between the muscle fibers and cause muscle pain.

Another more psychological reason to drink a cup of tea after a massage is to help us gradually come back to "reality".
